Guns don't kill people, people kill people! Its against the law in DC to own a handgun, but look at all the killings by thugs with handguns in DC! Maybe if parents kept their guns locked up than kids would not get a hold of guns. Or if gun shops did not sell guns to mentally unbalanced people, criminals, or people that shop for guns to resell, stuff like this would not happen. You can go to a corner in any city in the USA and buy a handgun, shotgun ,or automatic machine gun, etc. Anyone that has been in a mental hospital should not be able to have any gun at all. Outlawing guns will not work, only restricting gun sales to certain people, and securing guns will. Some 16 year old kid takes daddy's gun, or the one his gang banger buddie got for him and goes and kills someone? Arrest the person and throw the key away that gave the kid access to the gun. While we are at it put the kids that shot the kids at the bus stop, in a room and let the relatives beat the living crap out of them. Or the teens that shot Sean Taylor, put them on the fifty yard line and let the family, frends, and fans of Sean stone them to death! Bring back public hangings, that would reduce crime, if you see someone jerking at the end of a rope are you going to go out and rob, kill, rape etc?

More people die from drunk drivers
In 2006, an estimated 17,602 people died in alcohol-related traffic crashes—an average of one every 30 minutes. These deaths constitute 41 percent of the 42,642 total traffic fatalities. Of these, an estimated 13,470 involved a driver with an illegal BAC (.08 or greater). And in those other they still have gun crimes and some others have had an increase of crime as well as gun crime. Criminals will always have weapons. Japan is the exception as they are culturally different.
So if you really are concerned about saving lives and not just trying to take firearms away from people then this is a more real concern.

Why the hell would you do that when Nevada ALEADY HAS a law againt Assailants who shoot people at bus stops with anything,, See? Your not with the program here at all,,,and you damn sure don't seem to familar with Nevada politics at all..
Your off your Rocker if you think you'd have any sort of advantage whatsoever against my 9mm semi auto, in little rooms, in the dark, at "Arm's" length, etc,,,, Coming out of the blue with a big long "BangStick" that's more than likely going to get snatched away from you by the barrels and fed back to you through the teeth... There's no substitute for a Handgun for self defense, IN the HOME.. That's just the way it is, and IF you don't know it, you might want to get on the ball and put your shotgun up for when the birds are roosting; but, when all of a sudden, your watching yourself being "Cast" for the part of "The Victim" in a Home Invasion robbery, and rape or your wife, or dog,,whatever...you better have a very accesible, concealed, loaded, AND< MOST of all, KNOW how to flick the saftey off and make the shots you fire count,,,You'll never want for anything as badly as you'll want for a Smith & Wesson , "Mini Cannon" of your choice, Velcroed to the underside of the bed or somewhere like that,,,and be so damn glad that you aren't faced with the "Logistics" alone of using ANY sort of shotgun ('cept maybe a seriously sawed off morphed out death device from hell, that you'll STILL probably only get one decent chance to Kill the Criminal, who, you know has balls just off the ground as it is or they wouldn't be able to do what they do for a living,,,,can you follow that at all?? And can you see how flat out foolish that kind of talk is,,,really??? Can you??? Slack,,over here,,,please???
When I lived in England,,,the 2nd day I was there and I was standing in line at this little store, and a cop was in front of me,,,and I remember the weird feeling I got, when I started to realize that I don't have a pistol,,and HE doesn't have a pistol,,, And just where the hell are is a man supposed to find a pistol with "No" notice, in a country that has laws agianst defending your life anyway...That feeling sucked.. And so does this line of thoughts...

Um...we can agree to disagree! (HA!) No, in England they have stabbings instead of shootings! People will continue to fight and hurt each other with whatever means possible if that is there goal. Besides, 9 out of 10 times it's never a LEGAL gun that hurts someone. As far as the 2nd amendment, it was put there for us to keep our right to own a gun to be ready to go up against the government in case of tyranny. As crazy and corrupt as our government is...like experimenting with microchips, our vaccines are rancid and RFID's in our Driver's license...until they start acting right I'm never getting rid of my gun. But, yes the shotgun is the perfect gun for home protection still though if you do want to protect yourself.. innocent, honest people who have to live in the hood because of their incomes and if they want to legally carry a handgun in there coat while walking their kids down the street then they have every right to do so. I think they crazy people in Vegas should be punished and just because I don't agree with banning handguns doesn't mean I don't empathize with the situation.

Unfortunately, gun control won't solve the problem. The bad guy will find a way to get the gun. Education will solve the problem, not education in school, it is the education at home that is important. If we held the parents responsible, then maybe they will make an effort to talk to their children and lock their gun up so the kids can't get to it.

If someone at the bus stop had a gun they could have saved the people. Making something illegal only keeps things out of the hands of responsible people. If someone wanted a gun to break the law they will get one. I am not a gun nut so do not go off on me.

ill say something intelligent when you do.i dont have that long to wait sorry.first of all guns dont kill people, people do.its illegal to run people over with your car so lets make it illegal to own a car.you are a female right, you have the tools to be a prostitute but your not right?guns maybe illegal in those countries, so the bad guys use alternatives like sirin gas in subways, car bombs and airplanes like in lockerby, scotland.the bad guys will find guns, always have always will, guns arent the problem, people are.i say arm everyone so we all have a fightin chance.

That sounds great in theory, but I am willing to bet that the person who did the shooting did not legally buy that gun in the first place, so even if guns where outlawed the shooter still would of had the gun and the situation would of still happened.

It's called the Second Amendment of the Constitution. If you have a problem with that, why don't you move to another country that has no Constitution, like the countries you mentioned ?

Aren't drugs (we all know what kind) illegal? Has not the administration, now and before, had a war on drugs? If handguns were illegal, the only people who would have them are the people who now import, distribute, sell and use drugs.
