whoever these people are going around giving thumbs down are ridiculous.
it is driving me nuts.
why are they doing it?

Someone follows me around just to thumb down my answers.
That doesn't bother me as much as when I ask a question, then find that 11 answerers have been thumbed down for no reason. Then I feel compelled to thumb them all up...just to even things out. I also worry that the answerers might think I was the one who thumbed them down, and I never do that.

I think it has to do with the Holiday Spirit. This time of year we are all stressed and some people have to have some one to take it out on. Then there are the people that have nothing else to do with themselves. Then there are the ones that are full of the reason for the season that feel they need to take that extra step to show the Un-spirited just who is in charge. Then there are the bored comedians that enjoy that thrill of giving out thumbs for a good laugh. Then you have your jealous haters.

They have nothing better to do than to "rank" on others to make themselves feel better.
I pity them... they have no idea... when we look back at our answers... we know who did it!
