that actually affect the way the name is pronounced?

I mean you have Blue Öyster Cult, Motörhead, Queensrÿche etc. but what are some bands that have the umlaut in their name and actually have it pronounced?

Darth: I was trying out to figure out how to pronouce Queensrÿche but then I realized the umlaut probably didn't count in the pronunctation which would make it 50 times easier, lol

Here's a few other metal bands:
Deströyer 666 (Gratuitous use of umlaut)
Infernäl Mäjesty (Gratuitous use of umlaut)
Mütiilation
Sörskogen
Beowülf
Die Ärzte
Vänhørwick (Gratuitous use of umlaut)

These aren't metal bands;
Hüsker Dü (Punk)
Amon Düül and Amon Düül II (hard krautrock/prog)
Röda Kapellet (70's Swedish prog band)
Träd Gräs och Stenar (70's Swedish prog band)
Knutna Nävar (70's Swedish prog band)
3 Hür-El (70's Turkish band)

I just remembered that Spinal Tap used umlauts for their 1984 movie 'This Is Spinal Tap', but they served no purpose other than to humor us:

I think the answer has been answered, can't think of any other bands with Umlaut in their name, not that I know every band in the world.
As to the pronouncing
ä (also written as ae) is pronounced like english a in bad
ö (also written as oe) is pronounced like french eu in fleure
ü (also written as ue) is pronounced like french ue in rue
there are no other existing Umlaute ÿ does not exist and I guess it's more of a touch to Queensryche's name or logo (if they have one-logo that is, they definitly have a name).
To come to a conclusion, they don't seem to have any use for reasons of pronounciation in most of the listed names except for the german ones (Die Ärzte, Amon Düül and maybe Hüsker Dü)
PS this was very difficult to answer, because I have a greek keyboard and I can't find a way to write these Umlaute, had to copy and paste. There must be a way to create a universal keyboard...

edit
to phatzwave
é + Â are no Umlaute, they're letters with accents, not that it really does matter and for the asker ё also does not exist.
btw phatzwave I love your avatar, Megaherz just rock!!

If you consider them metal, I believe Motley Crue had an umlaut over the U. How do you type them in on your computer? Umlauts rule.

Damn just got beat with my answer. Alas.....

Hey, thanks BC! I have a feeling I'm going to add umlauts to everything now, whether it requires it or not. I'm such a geek....

The Crüxshadows - definitely not a metal band though.. hehe

Huevo - To type them in on the computer, you hold Alt down while typing a 3 (or 4) digit number in using the number pad, but to me that's too much work, so I just copy and paste the correct spelling most of the time. :)
