Your destiny never plays with you.It has been outlined for you several millennium before your birth.You are just a slave to it and have no choice but to follow it.You will be astonished to read Bhavishya Puran, a sacred scripture written in 200 b.c. in India,which has predicted with great accuracy the various kings and queens that would rule Bharatvarsh.,that is present India.It also mentions religious saints like Guru Naanak, Shri Kabeer.In the names of kings, on whom predictions are made, there is slight difference. Like king Shivaji is mentioned as Shevajai,Mugal king Aurangzeb is named Navarang.King Baabar,Humaanyu and Akabar are correctly named Queen Victoria of Great Britain is named Queen Viktawati.
You have asked if there is a destiny? If there was no such thing as destiny,how any forecast or predictions can be made of something that do not exist?
No one has so far succeeded in overtaking it.However, it is told that destiny's negative aspects can be mollified to some extent by righteous and virtueous deeds.

Our destiny is unwritten. Too many outside and totally unpredictable elements occur for us to make a confident prediction.
