GDDR3, even if just 256mb is FAST. DDR2 will just make your PC miserable in games.

Thats a tricky question. Both cards are identical but their memory that they feed off of, the smaller one 256MB has a higher memory clock speed of 1400Mhz while the 512MB has a core clock of 1100ishMhz. Since they are both 128bit graphics cards I would recommend you buy the "GeForce 8600GT 512MB" more memory and always the nice touch of over-clocking.

if GGDR3 is faster than GGDR2 then there is no doubt that the first one will work faster. The second one can handle more graphics without using system's RAM. Decision is yours, but I would probably get first. It would also depend on price.

do no longer rush buying your stuff....attempt to roam around city...dont be shy in soliciting for a working laptop or laptop technician's help.....attempt to seek for good 2d-hand stuff.....pretend to be unfavourable..and request for a miles better value.....you're spending too plenty for delivery , while in case you will pass to a technician...you will be certain of compatibility and much less annoying setting up!!!
