BigM,
just a pair of slacks from WalMart, JCPenny's, or Target would do - nothing fancy. Congratulations on this by the way - you deserve the best.
Keep me posted - I could be of some help to you off line if you need. I am off to a meeting now - again, best of luck!
Gerry :)

tennis shoes, not a good idea. Yeah, I'd say you need the pants and some shoes. Don't ask me what kind of shoes, because I don't claim to know much about women's shoes.
I work in a pretty casual office environment, but if I wore blue jeans or tennis shoes to work, I would end up in the office and have a discussion.
I get by with black jeans and a shoe that's essentially like a tennis shoe, but is all black leather.
You probably could get the pants at a second hand store, but the shoes will probably have to be new. Maybe a Payless Shoe Store deal will work in this situation.
Good Luck!

If you don't have a lot of money, then consignment stores, like Goodwill, are the way to go.
Basically, they want to know that you can dress up if they need you to. Not that they want to know that you have the clothes, but more along the lines of, "does this person get what is approprate to wear in a business environment". If you think a low cut dress someone might wear clubbing would be "appropriate business atire", then they might think twice about hiring you.
Dress for the 2nd shift job with the same attire you would wear for a 1st shift job, working directly for the CEO.

Dress clothes mean just that. Nice slacks with a white blouse and sweater are fine with NO tennis shoes. Boots could be ok.
Since you are short on cash, type in "Thrift Stores and you city name. This will get you started on your journey to purchase a new outfit with the right Thrift Store for less than $20.00 including shoes.
I always start in my size, most of the Thrift stores will either organize the clothes per colors then sizes or they will put all sizes first them colors.
Look for a nice pair of black dress slacks, they will go with any nice sweater of any color and it's easier to find black shoes or black dress boots than any other color.
Make sure your hair is in place along with your clothing and you will look just fine.
Good luck to you, it's all in the way you present yourself and when you are a little more dressed up, you hold your head a little higher because you look and feel great ~ just keep you nose down...

What I wore was an ivory turtleneck, a fuzzy pink vest, dark wash jeans, and my brown loafer wedges. I straightened my hair, whitened my teeth with straight-up bleach and did my make-up all nice, like I was going to a wedding or something. And I knew I looked good, which gives you a certian strut. I was kinda cocky, but that just translates to confidence, since I'm very laid-back and mellow, not cocky at all.
I look silly in suits. I have like, 2 pairs of grown-up,important lady shoes, and just normal tees and jeans. And I have horrible style. I just bought what the manequin at the store was wearing. A turtleneck sweater, and a pink fuzzy vest.
For you, I'd say, a fitted shirt, doesn't have to be too dressy, maybe even button-down. A pair of form fitting black stretchy dress pants, with a line of color, like red or gold, to match the shirt. and wear a pair of low heels. Do your hair, like you're goinng on a first date. And your make-up, like you're getting married all over again. Be hot and believe it, so you can be cocky too.

I can tell you how to get at least some of the clothes for free. I've been in that spot before! You go to your local thrift place and ask if they give "vouchers for clothing". Most places will at least get you some starter clothing. I would say wear nice dress shirt and pants. Ballet flats from payless would be a minimal monetary investment, comfortable, and workplace appropriate.

You should wear a skirt and dress shoes for sure. If you are low on funds find a thrift store or borrow some clothes from a friend.

Dress simple and neat. You don't want to look like a christmas tree.
Long black pants and a shirt with a collar. It must have at least short sleeves. Please cover your boobs up completely.
Your shoes must be closed shoe. And keep you hair neat, rather than fashionable. It make you look smarter.
Good Luck! I hope that you get the job.

Whether you request another recruiter or move to another agency, I would ask to speak with the agency manager and file a complaint about the rude agent and ask the manager, not the agent, for another agent. Then if you don't get results, go to another agency.
