Multiply a numerator by a numerator and a denominator by a denominator:

(-8 / 11) (9 / 10) = (-8 * 9) / (10 * 11) = -72/110 = -36 / 55

(3 / 5) ( -5 / 7) = (3 * -5) / (5 * 7) = -15/35 = -3/7

Factorise, factorise... 8x^3-27y^3 = (2x-3y)(4x^2+6xy+9y^2) [the version between 2 cubes continuously factorises like this] 4x^2-9y^2 = (2x-3y)(2x+3y) [the version between 2 squares] 8x^2+12xy+18y^2 =2(4x^2+6xy+9y^2) and you have distinctive cancelling to do!
