its better to buy a new one.. but if you don't have the budget.. and the current computer you will use is still good.. then you just need a few upgrading in the Hard disk, RAM and video graphics card..

If you have the cash buy a new one.
for gaming... High graphics card and lots of ram.
Make sure your hard drive is only half full for optimum performance.

you'll need to upgrade the motherboard....processor...graphics card (or cards if you want to go SLI).....get more memory (at least 2 gb)...a bigger power supply (at least 500w but i'd recommend 700).....sound card is optional if you have decent sound already.....and you might think about a new hard drive or drives if you want to go raid
