Well, people should only get married when: 1) They love each other unconditionally and want to spend the rest of their life together and have children, 2) to save their country as in the old days, like hundreds of years ago 3) When their culture demands it after a woman may be at risk of shaming her family......man, there really is no correct answer, it all depends on the persons and situations :)

j To determine whether or not you want to be married you must also ask yourself what this committment means to you.

Marriage as we know it in our country is only one form of marriage. In many cultures marriage is different. The civil/license part of marriage is only one aspect the committment between a couple.

Marriage is about the desire to be with that one person for the rest of your life. The rings are a symbol of that. The license is a tracking mechanism to keep tabs on folks.

If you are really committed it shouldn't make a difference either way.

You should discuss what happens if either of you were to become seriously ill and not be able to express your wishes, your desires about resucitation, etc. You should talk about having children or not. You should also talk about finances, owing property, etc etc. because, unfortunately in our society without that paper you could have issues with any one of these things should they ever arise. .

No one should tell you whether you should marry or not. You should have the pros and cons set before you. I have been married almost 20 years and would not change that for anything. You might make a different choice

I am assuming you mean - why should people get married AS OPPOSED TO just living together. If that is what you mean, the answer is quite simple: Because God told us in His Word that sex outside of the bonds of a marital commitment is wrong - it is sin. God says in His Word that he who has found a wife has found a good thing. God will reward and bless you for following His Word. Stay close to Him and follow His Word and you cannot go wrong.

Now a days, being married has no place in todays society unless you're religious. Why get married for a few years, then get divorced and loose everything to your wife and live broke for the rest of your life???
