I do not hate Barack Obama because he is black or anything(I don't hate him at all). I just think that having a black president would be horrible for our society. I mean you see all the looting and rioting that happens when the Lakers win a big game or there is a natural disaster. I can't imagine what would happen if we had a black president(or part black).

rgeleven, I think I need to clarify, I don't think that Mr. Obama would, himself, go riot. I said that it would be bad for our society and that you see how SOME black act when there is a natural disaster or the Lakers win a big game, looting, violence and rioting. It's not how our president would act, genius, it's how some of his overly excited "fans" would act. I'm just saying that having a black president in the U.S. for the first time in history would be a pretty huge deal to a lot of black people. And if past behaviors are any indication of future behaviors then I believe rioting would ensue as well as many other negative effects on society in general.

I AGREE
Society is NOT ready. We all want change of course but this is not going to help ALL Americans in a POSITIVE way.
It is exactly like you said.

It isn't about black, white, male or female. IT won't happen!!!

But I also do not think we are ready for Hillary.
I really liked the CLINTON administration and I am sure SHE would BE GREAT.
This is a tough time for ALL AMERICANS thanks to You know who in the white house now. grrrrrrrrrrr
NO matter what...It can't get any worse I hope.
It isn't racist it's GOOD SENSE.

Your just BRAVE enough to ask the question.

In fact, yes, you are a racist.

Racism is defined as:
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2 : racial prejudice or discrimination

According to you: blacks are culturally (or genetically, you didn't specify though it makes no difference in this case) inclined toward violence and bad behavior and therefore any black in power would promote those values. If I understand you correctly: blacks are unpredictable and should therefore not be put in a position of authority over whites as they may do bad stuff, or the other blacks might do bad stuff when they are elected. What it sounds like to me is that you need to spend time with people outside your ethnic group. You sound a bit scared of blacks and your only examples are bad stuff from TV. Go shake a few hands, listen to a few life stories, and read up on Obama. If you are going to oppose him, do so for a democratic (not the party) reason and not a racial one.

Race should NEVER be a determining factor in whether a person should be able to hold political office.

Yes it does make you a racist. White ppl have rioted over sports games before. Most ppl are hard working and just want to live life and have a good Pres. If this country is what it claims to be than having a Black Pres should not be the end of the world. If this country is not what it claims to be then I wish ppl would stop talkin that BS about the American dream. Otherwise what ppl are really saying is the American dream has certain limites on it - in which no one but a White man should ever expect to lead.

Yes, that is pretty much the logic a racist would use. But by the fact that you ask the question it says some other things about you: You are honest. You are willing to listen to other people.
The administration of a President Obama would be little different than of a President Clinton. The position is just too big to worry about the race of its holder.

The type of people you're referring to, the folks that rioted after the Lakers game... those are the type of people that don't consider people like Obama, Oprah, Condoleeza Rice and Colin Powell to be black. It's not a question of race, it's a question of class.

Um, yea... Id say youre a racist.... Ive considered the fact that people will go crazy if Barack get into the white house... and you know who it will be? Its going to be people like you who "arent racist, but....". I am 1/2 black and grew up around all whites... I never knew untill I became an adult how many of them were ok with me, but had issues with "real back people". I hate it! Its sooo hurtful. Screw all those who will bow down and not fight back against all of these racists beacuse theyre afraid of what could happen. With time comes change... these are the times!

I do not think that you are a racist, but I do think that you are painting a lot of good people with a mighty broad brush. I grew up in the South and have lived here my entire life. My parents taught me to look for people of good character be they black, white or any other race. There are good and bad in all groups of people and I can think of several black people that I think would be very good presidents. Obama is not one of them though. He may very well be a very good person but I do not vote for someone because of that, I am a conservative and I vote for someone that I feel will allow people to spend their own money and not try to be "big brother". Government is unfortunately a necessary evil, and I mean evil in every sense of the word. In the 45 years that I have been following politics, I have not seen any good come from Washington, D.C. Everything they do is a complete and total mess.

Yes.

What the hell does Barack have to do with basketball rioters? I am being honest here you are being an idiot and need to see that there are responsible black people and responsible white people, crazy white people and crazy black people, and everyone else. Should I not vote for Edwards because I'm afraid he will go on a suicidal rampage like all those white guys in recent years? It's a ridiculous question.

ummmmm not sure how to answer this. I simply don't see huge riots breaking out just because Obama wins. This nation is not far from having someone from a "minority" in office - whether that minority is a woman, hispanic, african american or Cherokee Indian. I think you are doing a bit of racial stereotyping by assuming that people that riot after a ballgame (not all are black) will riot after a presidential election.

Are you racist for not wanting a black president? Well, by definition, yes. You are judging somebody as being unworthy of a position by the sole reason of the colour of their skin. That is the definition of racism.

Are you an "awful" racist? I don't know you, so I really don't have enough information about you to make such a judgment.

What is the difference.. yellow, blue, red, we are all the same. They're not like aliens or anything.. yes it makes YOU racist for not wanting an African American President!

Many African Americans are smart too, look at the children in Africa.. they know how to speak up to 32 languages, and Oprah built a College because they want to learn, because they are intelligent, because they are human.

Anyway it would be great to have an African American President, and I doubt not.. they have done things they couldn't before.
