I suspect many of the players will be either already publicly connected to steroids (Segui, Gibbons, Grimsley), or veteran role players or spot starters (i.e. Paul Byrd). People are anxiously awaiting this document's release because they want to see big names like Ryan Howard or Vlad Guerrero, but that isn't going to happen. Some names that I think will be included (this is purely speculation, I have no inside knowledge obviously, and I am just guessing not accusing anyone): Brad Wilkerson, Jose Guillen, Brian Roberts. Also keep in mind this Mitchell investigation will not catch every steroid offender, and there is a highly improbable chance of false accusation.

It's really easy for people to name players from teams they don't like (Like the Youkilis "Rat" Comment) but let's get serious here. There will be quite the wide variety of people named and most will be players who have suffered injury and were trying to get back to good health, or marginal guys who needed the extra push to stay in the majors or veterans who wanted to hang on for a few more years.
I don't think we'll be shocked with a lot of big names involved, there won't be a Jeter, Ortiz, or Vlad named. It will be players like (Purely Hypothetical) Mike Timlin or Kyle Farnsworth who have had injuries recently and were rehabbing (I don't think either will be named but I'm making a point here).
And please don't bring up Bonds (ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU TYPE IN ALL CAPS.... IT GETS ANNOYING DOESN'T IT?). If I had lied to a Federal Grand Jury, I'd be in jail. Why should he be any different? I don't care who else committed crimes, when they're brought up on charges I'll feel the same way.

Many of them will be players that have already been publicly linked to steroid use, such as Jason Giambi, Benito Santiago, and so on.
I suspect the rest will be a pretty wide cross-section: some who used it to extend careers, some to make it to the majors, and some who wanted the accolades and money that comes with being a better player.
What one should look for are players whose performance is out of character: who have sudden improvements in power or who don't seem to experience the declines in ability associated with aging.
I don't really expect many surprises, though: that is, I don't expect to read the names of any big stars that haven't previously been linked to use.

I truthfully don't have any hunches on this topic, although the one name that's always stuck out to me in the past was Brett Boone. He's the one player that I'm almost popsitive took SOMETHING. I mean, tiny second basemen just don't develop that power out of nowhere. It will be an interesting day Thursday, and probably a scary one too.

individually, I won't bash every physique. i'm attempting to proceed to be helpful for the solid of the sport. human beings bash Bonds by using fact he's an offended, bitter guy. He lied, he cheated, so have a gaggle of different gamers. human beings loved Mark McGwire by using fact he interivewed properly and grew to become into couteous in direction of others. even nevertheless Barry disagrees, it has no longer something to do with race. as a techniques by using fact the others on the checklist...who cares approximately David Segui, Jeremy Giambi, Jose Guillen, Jason Grimsley, Brett Boone and the the remainder of the 2nd tier gamers which will take place? there will be some massive names, yet no longer as many as human beings think of. human beings have their suspicions approximately adult males like Sammy Sosa, Roger Clemmens, Mike Piazza, Gary Sheffield, Ivan Rodriguez, Juan Gonzalez and of direction Mark McGwire. undergo in concepts whilst Brady Anderson hit 50 homers in 1996? i think of he hit around 18 another twelve months of his profession. the same is going for Louis Gonzalez whilst he crowned 50. The checklist will answer many suspicions and optimistically lay others to kick back. For every physique on the checklist nonetheless enjoying, it somewhat is possibly the appropriate way for the information to return out. The media's interest is going to be dilluted by using fact journalists would be focusing on their native land communities fairly of pointing palms at others separately. it somewhat is going to blow over in some weeks. Pitchers and catchers checklist in seventy six days. we will get via this only fantastic.
