I do not really "like" George Bush. With that said, I can sort of admire how he sticks to his beliefs, regardless of how others see them as wrong headed, and he seems to stay the course even against all evidence of how wrong this path is. I do admire his tenacity, but when it is taken too far and causes much pain and sorrow, it just seems wrong.

Ok, I tried, I really did. lol

Lets see if I can do better than this. I put this aside for a little bit, and have come back to it.

He seems a loving and devoted husband and father. He seems to be a loving family member, attested to by his close relationships with his parents and siblings. He knows his own mind, and is passionate about getting his family ahead in life. He sees the benifit of higher education, and has instilled this in his daughter. I am unsure if he has any other children. He is firm in his convictioins, wrong as they may be.

If he did not have the power to harm so many I would not find him as objectionable as I do. When someone has great power, they have grave responsibility, and he has not proven very responsible in weilding his power.

He made a comment once which disturbs me to this day. He was in some form of conference with the press, where he was asked how he lived with himself. It as a very confrontational situation, but somebody with the emotional wherewithal of being a president of the United States of America, one of the largest countries in the world, should be able to handle an irate reporter or even a gate crasher with an unfriendly agenda.

Mr. Bush said, and I quote, "I sleep very well at night.".

Even if every action he had taken were absolutely unavoidable, each would still make a sane and conscience ridden individual feel some deep grief over the destruction involved.

This presidency has been very violent, with much death and destruction. Even if it were unavoidable, most people would grieve. Most would feel sad at the very least, and they would not be sleeping soundly every single night, nor would they be so callous as to say so if they did.

In my years as a U.S citizen I have watched several presidents in and out of office. Each and every one of them, up to be not including Mr. Bush, have left office much grayer than when they entered. Even after one term, they are much grayer, and with two, nearly completely gray, and this has little to do with their ages. Mr. Bush may be one of our younger presidents, but he isn't the youngest we have had, yet he, after nearly two full terms, is hardly any grayer than when he entered office. This tells me that he does indeed sleep well, and is not moved by the plight he has created for so many in the world, especially those in the middle East, and for all the families and friends of all the troops in foreign countries.

In my opinion, this negates anything I might have "liked" in George Bush. I do think if he were a peer of my own, rather than hold the power he does, I would indeed respect many aspecs of his personality and beliefs, if simply for how strong he holds to them. However, with the damage he has inflicted while in power, and the damage he can still inflict, I simply can't "like" much about him.

For all who would like to bash me for my opinion, I must confess that I voted for Mr. Bush. I regrett it deeply, and only did so because I was concerned for the Iraqian people if Mr. Gore became president during this war. I felt that we needed to keep the same president who started it all, in order to keep people in the field who would have the best chance to offer the highest probability for restructuring and hope for rebuilding their homes and lives.

I still believe we owe Iraq to stay and help them rebuild, but only if they want us there. I strongly believe that if they don't want us we should leave, and right away. However, I have not yet heard the majority of the people of Iraq state they would wish this action. Perhaps some do, but most do not. They see the wisdom and safety the troops bring, and a chance to get on their feet before being taken over by another power while struggling to start life again. I hate that we have to stay where we causes such hurt, but we do.

I love the way he has continuously beaten smug democrats on most every issue and election he has pursued (social security reforms were doomed from the start)..he drives them crazy..his nomination of Supreme Court justices will be his legacy..not some lame construction about sex being his own business..lol

Bush stands strong against their disdain for the separation of powers and has worked very hard to defeat the lies and distortions the left has built their House of Cards upon..
**Dan Rather's public Hare-Karie is an example**

He actually worked towards bi-partisanship..something that wasn't in the Dems interest and that has spawned all of the nasty rhetoric and hatred..with the politics of division they have banked upon..

he's good for a laugh, even if it's usually not intentional.

""Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country." —President George W. Bush, Poplar Bluff, Mo., Sept. 6, 2004 "

He is an honest man...a great President, and he protects our country by working closely with his military advisers and forces. He is respected by his administration and by his people. I guess what I really like about him is the fact that he said he would not rest until they find Osama Bin Laden for planning the attack on America...and he is still working on it and fighting to the end!!! To President Bush, his military advisers, administration, and military soldiers....I admire their courage for fighting this to the end!!! God Bless you and keep you safe.

His honesty. That should go over like a lead balloon with the fringe left but he seems to be very honest in the REAL world.

You can't argue with his commitment, even when he's wrong, he still steams ahead. Just think how good a President he would have made if he had made good choices. What a waste of an opportunity.

I like that he brought our nation together in a time of crisis.

I also like what he is doing to stop abortions.

You know, the killings of unborn babies when the mothers just say "oops i got pregnant now i wanna kill the living being growing in me"..
