1. Blake 8 cups in 13 years
Bowman 9 cups in 30
I'll take Blake
2. I'll take Cherry's suits. I can't imagine having a mullet
3. Steve Avery. He has the ability to take a regular shift on a line with hall of fame calibre players. Domi did not.
4. Washington. I like the young talent that both teams have, but I think that no matter what Phoenix does, that team will be overshadowed by Gretzky. The best player between the two teams is Ovechkin. So Washington wins on two counts for me.
5. I prefer Datsyuk to Zetterberg. He's 'prettier' to watch on the ice and I think he's a smarter player than Zetterberg (in fact, I think Datsyuk is one of the smartest players in the league)
6. Neither. I think both are pretty pathetic. There are features I like about Yahoo's coverage that are easily accessible (game logs going back several years)
Mikey, the number of teams is irrelevant. The whole idea of winning the cup is to be the last team standing. Blake's teams played 70 games. Whether you play 5 teams 14x each or 14team 5x each, you need to win enough games to make the playoffs.
For the majority of Bowman's coaching career, 78% of the teams made the playoffs. In Blake's career, it was the top 66%. Which mathematically is harder to do. Bowman played a lot of bad teams in the first round of the playoffs. Blake didn't.

Toe Blake (I don't like the Wings or anything associated with them, lol)
Barry Melrose
Tie Domi
Washington (Ovechkin is Russian)
Datsyuk (once again; he's Russian)
Ummm.... ESPN doesn't really care about hockey anymore, but Yahoo's writers do suck, so I don't really know.
Sucks for you that you waste a snow day lol.
~
LITY: While I don't like Bowman, I don't think you can make the argument that you made. While Blake won 8 Cups in 13 years; he did it in a 6 team league. Bowman had more competition. Toe Blake was probably a much better coach, but that's not the stat I'd use to prove it.
no_dirt: psssh, your cousin's complaining?? lol, I personally love snow. I don't really call this serious snow though, not by Denver's standards. Last year we had over a foot of snow fall once every week for 4 weeks in a row.

Toe Blake...cause come on the guy's name is Toe...
Don Cherry, he always looks like a gay mobster
Tie because I detest Avery
Phoenix, cause I like hot weather and Brad May, historic as that may be
Datsyuk
Can't say I do much in the way of Yahoo coverage, I'd rather have a toddler colour me stick hockey figures and explain what he's seeing than watch ESPN, or even worse, Versus. At least that way, there'd eb some degree of accuracy.
1. College totally prepares you for your future. Why, look at me, on my third degree and working part time for $11 an hour...lol
2.I'm in Buffalo, and we actually haven't had much snow yet, at least where I'm at. It 40 out right now and just rainy. We'd have to have snow combined with a nuclear war to get school delayed for like ten minutes. Unless you go toa charter school, because Mayor Urkel forgot to have the streets plowed. Again. I don't think I've had a snow day since 11th grade.

1. Scotty Bowman
2. The mullet
3. Avery, this one was hard to chose, Avery can be more than a pest though, he can put some points on the board if need be.
4. Phoenix, I like the city.
5. Tough one, i'll take both, is that allowed?
6. I don't care for either, but i'll take yahoo.
We don't get snow days up here unless we get dumped with 4 feet of snow over night. Which does happen.

Scotty Bowman by a mile. No offense to Blake, who was great, but he won his Cups when there were only five other teams to compete with.
Cherry's suits ROCK.
Neither Avery and Domi are worth the bad penalties. I'll pass on both.
Washington. They have Ovechkin.
Zetterberg. Datsyuk, though talented, lacks Zetterberg's grit, leadership, and finishing ability.
Yahoo! They suck, but ESPN sucks more.
As far as the weather... poor me. It is supposed to be in the 70s tomorrow here in Tallahassee, Florida. Again. :-)

funny when i saw question about cherry's outfit i was trying to figure out a tie-in to melrose's mullet. i pick cherry
avery only cause he played for the wings at one point otherwise its a wash ...
washington think better market and a lil more promise in the future
wash they complement each other so nicely... though datsyuk seems to preform lil better at this point when in an individual situation.
wow hard one but at least i can get updates with-in 15 min of it happening in game on yahoo where at espn well yeah guess there is the ticker, and sportcenter in the morning, going yahoo...
what a snow day.... isnt that where it snows all day... why would u want to be in school for those. in fact its been snowing here all day quite nice out get to snow blow tomorrow morning and hope none of the staff calls off.
Mike heard you all got a lil bit of snow too, my cousins is just outside Denver and complaining about it.
wings fan... anchorage school district in 95 decided to get rid of the snow day, bus companies now cause it to be delayed by as much as two days but never again will there be a snow day, and there reasoning to hard for parents who still had to go to work to find a babysitter. and give me 2 feet of snow anyday over that fine layer of ice. even studs dont really help that much
ill look and see if i can find the policy reference for you. but in last 12 year most they had was 2 hour delays (like we will tomorrow im sure as it still snowing)
http://www.asd.k12.ak.us/aboutasd/closure.asp
huh guess that when we got the 28 inches 5 years ago they cancled it for 2 days but i thought it was spring break right around then also (it was st pat's day and it snowed 28inches in 24 hours) turns out it was week after spring break so probably knowing how they do things up here had more to do with people returning form out of state and being delayed. i remember haveing issues getting to work but by sunday night when i left work i had no problems.
mike she is from kansas city what u expect.

2. I'm a fan of the mullet (and I kinda like Panger too) but Cherry is nuts and he rocks!
3. Probably Avery, tough though.
4. Neither
5. I think I'd have to pick Zetterberg, but it's a hard, hard choice.
6. FSN Detroit! I guess I'll go with Yahoo though.

Toe Blake by a nose
Don Cherry's outfits
Sean Avery
Is death an option?
Zetterberg
Again, is death an option?
And it doesn't matter how much it snows, rains, hails, snains, freezes, earthquakes, hurricanes....Hell, it could be the freakin' apocolypse, Wayne State will still be open, despite the fact that:
1. We are a commuter school
2. Detroit Public Schools are practically the first to close

I gotta go with Scotty on this one. He did it with three different teams.
Big Melrose fan, he started with the minor league club in my area. (Cincy Stingers)
Have to say Avery on this. I used to like Tie until I watched him run from a fight several years back.
I'm torn on this one, I'm a Gretz fan big time, but I like the way Alex O plays the game..PUSH
Someone else said Datsyuk played prettier, I agree, but I think Zetterberg is tougher. I pick the Zman
I never go to ESPN for hockey. I look at Yahoo but go to NHL.com for the best Internet coverage.

Bowman - Im too young to be familiar with Blake
Mullet
Domi - He was a much better fighter (I would love to see Avery go toe to toe with Probert)
Caps
Datsyuk - When they are together, Zetterberg is the dominate one, when they are split up, Pavel is much better than Z.
ESPN - I dont think their internet coverage on hockey is that bad. John Bucchigross (I know I spelt that wrong) is awsome.
