Why do they need to drink? It doesn't make you cool to drink. You will just piss them off later on, once they realize what you have done. As for you adding alcohol to their drinks, why would you even do that?!?! You are a freak and need some help, are you an alcoholic or something? Loser!

Don't try to force it. If you're of age, bring some wine, beer, or wine coolers, and have a drink yourself. Offer some to the others. Maybe if they see you drinking, they'll feel more comfortable drinking too. If they decline, just let them be. You can have fun without alcohol. Have music playing. Suggest having a game of "Rob Your Neighbor." My family does that. Everyone buys a few cheap items (manicure sets, dish towels, candy, batteries, etc., as well as some gag items). We wrap them in festive paper and place everything in the center of the table. We pass a set of dice around the table. If you get doubles, you get to pick something from the pile. When all the packages are gone, we have a couple rounds of robbing, where if you roll doubles, you can steal a gift from someone else's pile. Its lots of fun and after everything is open, there's usually a lot of trading going on.

Would you want someone telling you NOT to drink at your own christmas party? I am sure not, so why would you want other family members to drink if they choose not to. In our family half drink, the other half do not and to be honest, we never noticed it to be a problem either way... people who do not drink can and do have just as good a time at a party as drinkers... unless you are too young to observe people and what makes them happy - its usually not trying to change them. Just have a good time and don't sweat the small stuff :)

Why on earth would you take pains to do so???? What are you 8 yrs old? Everything I do my friend must do too! If I get a candy bar my friend must get the same....lame mentality! If people choose not to drink alcoholic beverages then that is their prerogotive. You have absolutely no right to try to force or coerce them into it, and frankly if I were the friends, I definitely would not consider you a friend, but a very big nuisance and trouble maker....get a life

DON'T DO IT!!! It's not only unethical, it is also immoral to risk their health, safety or even religion. Some people don't drink because of health reason, they don't want to drink and drive and for religious reason or personal beliefs.

Try to get them them Non-alcoholic Champagnes or wines. They have everything that an alcoholic drink has, except the alcohol!

Take care. Have a happy Holidays!

you probably shouldnt.
there is a reason they dont drink, and pushing them to do so could cause some serious problems.
and slipping it into their drinks is seriously not the thing to do.
think of how mad they will be when they wake up in the morning with a hangover they didnt expect!
and if you would really like them to, just ask. the worst they can say is no, asking never hurts anything.
:]

Why would you want to force people to drink if they don't like to? Perhaps there is a reason why they don't. If you're of age and you want to have wine then bring a bottle of wine, but you shouldn't force others to do something against their will or try to get them to do something they don't approve of. Not for your own benefit ecspecially at the holidays

Maybe if you had some really yummy drink recipe that isn't that alcoholic they would consider a taste... depends on why they don't drink. But mainly if you pressure them it'll probably just annoy them. Better to just respect people's choices.

why not just respect their decision not to drink?
provide nonalcoholic beverages if you are having a gathering or ask them to bring their own.
Either way, I hope you are joking here , but if you are not then you are no friend and I pray you never get the opportunity to treat this family like you personal entertainment

Your family doesn't drink for a reason. I do not drink, and I get incredibly offended when poeple try to push it on me. Don't make a fuss, just enjoy the holidays.
