Actually, most neo-liberals don't know much about philosophy; they simply spew what they have been told will result in less work. Of course, neo-conservatives don't know much either; they just spew what they have been told will result in less social freedom and more money.

Of course, that is rather stereotypical. To be serious, leftists are fond of socialism/communism because in theory, it will result in greater equality, and many liberals associate that with happiness. Thus, liberals like Marx's philosophy because they think that they're helping people even if that is not necessarily true. My guess is that a liberal's mind is stimulated to a greater degree by altruism, but that may just be wild speculation, and no, that is not an insult.

I myself despise his philosophy, but that's just personal opinion. We all have different ideas as to life's purpose.

Well, Karl Marx wasn't deranged. Where in the world did you get such an idea?

And, most leftists don't know the first thing about Marx. It's lonely being an open socialist in this country these days.

When you mean "in love with the philosophy of the Deranged Karl Marx" do you actually mean we want to be more liberal like all the rest of the world except for the US?

I guess because we are in the mainstream, and you thinking that liberal government is marxist makes you a little paranoid.

I don't follow Marx. Why are righties in love with the philosophy of a corrupt George Bush from the 2000's?

Maybe they would all like a government job where it wouldn't matter how good of a job they did.
But they would always have that kind of security. Those I've seen that like Marx also seem to be the type that think of themselves as elitists and should be in charge of the rest of us because we can't think for ourselves.
And I believe that in a Marx like state is the only type of environment where those people could really thrive.

Because he made so much sense. It's too bad we're not perfect aliens, or else his theories would work eh?

I agree with the above... most liberals don't know a thing about communism or marx.

Who said? What are you basing this on? This sounds a bit goofy to me.

Because his theories even though disproved make them feel good.
