people would like to believe homosexuality is a choice because if not then somehow they think that makes the bible or whatever religion somewhat incorrect. If you were told that being heterosexual was wrong and unnatural and you were told to change. could you? the answer is most likely no. so just because the bible says its wrong to be homosexual does not make it true. do you believe everything you read. real humans wrote the bible so don't you think there was room for their beliefs or a little exaggeration. not to say the bible is incorrect just don't believe everything you read. use it as a tool from which to form your own beliefs on what is wrong and what is right. it should never be right to belittle someone based on what feels natural for them. IF straight ppl cant turn gay. what makes you think gay ppl will turn straight, i believe we were all created to be different and yes it is difficult sometimes. so no i don't think its a choice whether your homosexual or heterosexual but it is a choice to be ignorant. There have been studies to back up the theories of being born this way but unfortunately its unethical to test fetuses still in the womb so its up to everyone else to get over their selves and accept people for what they are. Human!

I don't think we really have a choice over the things that make us happy, sad, or aroused, they just happen, they're visceral reactions. For instance, there's no logical reason why I don't like the taste of blueberries, I just don't. Am I "choosing" not to like blueberries? No, I just gag when I try to eat one.
Only 10% of the population is left-handed is that unnatural too? Is that a choice?
I think sexual orientation is the same way, either you are attracted to the opposite gender, or your own, or both. I happen to be heterosexual, but if some other guys like men, what difference does this really make in the grand scheme of things? If homosexuality is really "unnatural", then why does it occur naturally, in nature?
I'll never understand how people can pluck out the couple of instances of the bible insinuating homosexuality is bad, and miss the entire new testament message of love and tolerance.

It is most definitely not a choice. Interesting how so many refer to anecdotes to demonstrate their knowledge. Please, everyone, read the literature and know that there is virtually no academic psychologist who believes that sexual orientation is a choice.
I mean, if you are a straight man, did you actually sit down one day while the age of 12 and say, "gosh, should I go after guys or girls? Well, heck, I say girls." Obviously the answer is that you never had such a thought. You just knew that you were attracted to girls just like gay men knew they were attracted to men.
I defy any reader of this to find one peer reviewed article to back the idea that sexual preference is a choice. You will not find it. The only place you will find such a thought is probably in a conservative church that teaches homosexuality is an abomination and they will refer to the bible as a source and not a scientific outlet.
But of course, you have answered your own question so I doubt you are willing to track down objective literaure. Maybe some day?

There are as many trains of thoughts as to studies in choice of/ born to be Gay. I have known so many Gay people and some have stayed Gay and a few have changed their wants, so I don't think there is any real answer. The Question of Natural or Unnatural is one only the person can really answer, because it is what the feel and no one can say what another person feels really.Good Luck in your hunt it maybe like the question what came first the Chicken or the Egg?

You have answered your own question, and I agree.
Many people don't realize that a homosexual choice is nothing more then a desires, and temptation ACTED ON, that seem to be taboo to others, another thing that people don't realize is the fact that all people are tempted the same way that others are. There are some that will fall into the temptation, and there be
others that won't, still that doesn't mean that those that didn't fall in the temptation wasn't tempted, again its a choice we had to make driven by our desires at that time. Straight people often wander what it would be to go with someone of the same sex, but b/c of their strong convictions they won't go there.
YES, Homosexuality is a choice.
AND IT IS UNNATURAL!
Just b/c science believe there may be a chance that its biological people will lean that way b/c they want too.
I don't have a problem with thumbs down for I stand by my beliefs and convictions smile- peace out

What I have read of late, is that the mother secretes hormones incorrectly while the fetus is in the womb, resulting in the child being a homosexual.
Autopsies on homosexual brains compared to normal brains showed a remarkable difference in size of the hypothalmus.
These are biological reasons for homosexuality.
I do not believe it is a choice. It is a biological anomality.

99% of all experts and scientists on the subject say you are wrong. I am prone to believe the vast majority of scientists, who actually know about the topic, rather than you, who likely knows very little about genetics or biology.
And no, I am not gay. And yes, I am a Christian. What I am not is a scientist, geneticist, or biologist. Neither are you.

I heard that it might be biological but people who study that are about 98,99% right? Not completely but that might mean that one extra percent might be a big thing and migth not actually be biological.I also do think it's unnatural but I'm not going to like be mean to a person who is an homosexual.
