Why is it politically incorrect to ask a soldier that has been to war if they killed anybody or how many people they killed while they were at war?? I understand that it may be insensitive, but that is partly their job. So it seems like a rational question. If they can't deal with killing or the questions afterward then maybe they shouldn't sign up for a job that may require killing people.

I hear you.

It is taboo to ask a soldier about the war when they come home. My friends are the same way. They can't deal with what they have had to do over there so they prefer to act as though it didn't happen.

I had one soldier told me that he killed two men who were firing at him. He said afterwards, he was numb and killing didn't bother him anymore. That's cold

It may simply just be insensitive like you said. We all have parts of our jobs we don't like and don't like being asked about. Why remind them of everything they have been through? I have no idea what it would be like to be in a war, as a result, insensitivity is enough of a reason for me not to ask.

I didn't realize it was politically incorrect. My brother's a cop and people always ask him if he's ever had to shoot anybody. I don't see why asking a soldier would be any different.

well good for you, did you have the guts to ask this question in person? i didnt think so, your an internet troll and a coward, so if you ever grow a set, and work up the courage to ask this to a returning soldier, and he beats the shiet out of you, you will have your answer.
