RAM = Random Access Memory, for example i have 512MB of ram. The more you have, the better. There is no such thing as too much ram.
I will make this very easy and clear for you to understand.
Lowest would be 1 BYTE.
Byte = B
Kilobyte = KB
Megabyte = MB
Gigabyte = GB
Terabyte = TB
1000 Bytes = 1 Kilobyte
1000 Kilobytes = 1 Megabyte
1000 Megabytes = 1 Gigabyte
1000 Gigabyte = 1 Terabyte
--------------------------------------------------------------
1,000 Bytes = 1 Kilobyte
1,000,000 Bytes = 1 Megabyte
1,000,000,000 Bytes = 1 Gigabyte
1,000,000,000,000 Bytes = 1 Terabyte
Today the maximum ram you can have is 8GB = 8000MB = 8000000KB = 8000000000B
And the maximum capacity you can have in your hard drive is 4TB = 4000GB = 4000000MB = 4000000000KB = 4000000000000B
What people are trying to explain is ram can only be doubled, So ram will never be an odd number.
Starting from 8 Kilobyes:
8
16
32
64
128
256
512
1024 (1MB rounded)
2048
4096
8192
16384
32768
65536
131072
262144
524288 (512MB rounded - They sell 512MB sticks of ram)
1048576 (1GB rounded - They sell 1GB sticks of ram)
2097152 (2GB rounded - They sell 2GB sticks of ram)
4194304
8388608 (8GB rounded - 4x2GB sticks of ram)
The highest memory capacity stick out in the market at the moment is 8GB (8388608KB). So really 8GB is 8.38GB.

Ok, so you do have a few terms confused, lets clarify that first.
RAM is a termed used for memory in your computer, it can come in many different types and sizes which may be why you're thinking it is a unit of measurement. Also, Megaram and Gigaram is definitely some confusion on your part as these terms do not exist.
So, as to the conversions:
There are 1048576 bytes in a Meg (MB) and 1024MB in a Gig (GB).

RAM stands for Random Access Memory, for measuring it you need a basic unit, like the byte, and the rest are just multiples of it.
1) 1024 ^2
2) Doesn't make sense, is like asking how many miles there are in a distance
3) Same as above
4) 1024 ^3
5) "Megaram" doesn't exist
6) Same as above

1048576 bytes in a Megabyte
1073741824 bytes in a Gigabyte
Took me a minute to figure out the confusion in terms. Then I actually said it out loud..."How much memory you got in there?" "Oh, I got a Gigaram" (as in Gig of RAM).

1 Byte = 8 Bit
1 Kilobyte = 1024 Bytes
1 Megabyte = 1048576 Bytes
1 Gigabyte = 1073741824 Bytes
RAM is an acronym for Random Access Memory and comes in various sizes, such as 256 Mb (Megabytes), 512 Mb, etc.
I'm not familiar with Megaram and Gigaram.

1 Meg has 1,000,000 bytes (or 1,024,000 depending how you convert it)
2 Ram is memory and it is not a unit of measure
3 Same as 2
4 one gig has 1,000,000,000 (or 1,073,741,824 depending on conversion)
5 same as 2
6 same as 2
hope this helps you

1024 bytes per kilobyte
1024 kilobytes per megabyte
and so on
1024x1024 = bytes per meg ect keep going from there :)
beware hardware manufacturers use a 1000 count method
