Because I really don't want to carry my passport around with me. I'm afraid i might lose it or something.

If you walk around in the Netherlands, (that does include Amsterdam,) you have to carry your passport with you if you 14 or older.

So stay within the law, and take your passport.

Can you get marijuana in Amsterdam? You will end up in jail! Marijuana is dangerous! People on that drug go crazy and become criminals. Better just get a beer and leave it at that! Do not drive after drinking...take a cab! Have a nice time!
