I would choose the east coat of Florida....thw est coat is more hick and smells.....do realize though that yo are going to be in a vibrant area but with A LOT of old people.....Florida is widely called Gods waiting room....and its true. Its also best that you know Spanish as Florida has a high illegal immigrant population!

If you want pretty beaches move to the Emerald Coast of Florida. The West Coast of Florida has nothing on our beaches. Destin is beautfiul however it is very expensive. Pensacola has a good community college is close to the beaches. If you want to escape the "Hick Thing" you best be staying in the City, it's the South baby....if you don't like it would be best for you to stay where you are. Friendly advice from a Northern Redneck.

I live smack dab in the middle in the northern part...Lake City...Don't have to worry about the bad part of the Hurricanes Its 45 minutes away from Jacksonville and St Augustine Beach, 3 hours away from Orlando...Lake City Community College.

Also 30 minutes to get to Gator country-Gainesville.
