Huber Matos was one of Castro's original Revolutionaries. He was a pro democratic liberal and parted ways with the increasingly autocratic and communist Castro 9 months into Castro's regime. When Mastro resigned his position as a provincial governor, Fidel threw him in jail for 20 years.
