I just saw this show where she mentioned that people in the south eat nothing but fried chicken, and being an African American i took offense to this. Does anyone else think so is a racist?

If she said "all black people from the south eat nothing but fried chicken or "all black people eat nothing but fried chicken", than maybe. But she just said people in the south in general. It's not like she said "yo, got any hot wings around here?" If anything you should be pissed that she made such a stereotypical generalization about the south. And if you're not from the south who cares? I think you took what she said out of context. I'm sure she didn't mean to offend anyone by it.

I don't really think that was a racist comment so much as a self-deprecating one, considering the way Paula Deen eats. She's white, and I don't think she's ever eaten anything that wasn't deep-fried, judging from the food on her show. She seems to see that behavior that as more of a geographical thing than a racial thing.
