I don't mind taking my shoes off when I enter anyone home, if it's at the shoe section of the home and I don't plan on going further into the home then I'll keep my shoes on and stay at the show section.

I'm always barefoot but even indoors I'm usually the only one. Most friends and family seem to have their shoes glued on until bedtime, at their own home and when visiting. If someone has a 'no outdoor footwear' rule I'll take extra care to wipe my bare soles when I enter or I'll wash them if they want me to.

I don't allow shoes in the house, and I know quite a few people who don't. It's comfortable and clean to walk around in your socks all the time.

we're all poor and our carpets are already ruined, so no.
one exception- my former foster grandparents- they have a super nice house and I just do it so i don't spread crap all over their floor. They don't take off their shoes though. haha
