My husband and I are usually pretty active in the bedroom. We have been married for 3 1/2 years. Right now I am 25 weeks pregnant with baby number two. Since my first was born premature I had a cerclage done at 14 weeks this pregnancy. Which means "pelvic rest" no vaginal intercourse. We have cheated this a few times but have worked hard on being extra careful when we do. But does anyone have any ideas on how to keep our sexual life alive right now? Has anyone else gone through a period in time when they weren't allowed to have sex but really wanted it? I am open to any ideas.

i'm seriously not trying to be gross, but when i can't have sex vaginally, anal works just the same. and it's really not that bad. i'm so sorry if you are disgusted. my husband and i have been married 3 1/2 years as well, and our sex life has been absolutely wonderful, even when we can't have vaginal sex.

Ok, since you've been married for over 3 years, I'm pretty sure you already know about the oral thing, and are tired of hearing it by now. Obviously you want to have intercourse or you wouldn't be asking. As long as you are careful, there should be no problem. Try positions that do not put a whole lot of wieght on your stomach. The baby is well protected and as long as you don't get rough, there should be absolutely no problem. Mostly they don't want you to have sex because sex can cause you to go into preterm labor, and it is more common if you have before, but if your careful, it is doubtful. If you are too worried, don't let him ejaculate inside you without a condom because there is a vitamin in a man's semen than can cause labor.

I'm assuming that you have already been orally active. Maybe try to role play a little bit or dress up? Are you allowed to use toys with your condition? You still have about 14 weeks to go huh? Maybe make a game of sorts in the bedroom, maybe have rules to make things more interesting like for instance having oral sex but not being allowed to use your hands? Things like that? Or incorporate ice, gels, foods?

yeah well, i wanted sex at the middle of pregnancy but not at the end lol. But once i had the baby, it was IMPOSSIBLE to wait the 6 weeks to have sex. I was all healed at 3, so we did it at week 4. Well guess what,,, we might be having baby # 2 already now lol. Anyway, you could always try oral sex if your into it. Just be really careful if you are having sex. You don't want to risk something happening to your baby, a doctor wouldn't tell you no sex for nothing. Good luck! :)

oral sex, mutual masturbation, or go to one of those sex stores and find a board game to play. my fiance and I have one we pull out every so often just to spice things up. Unfortunately I can't think of the name of it, but you take turns answering questions about sex and there are different rewards, etc. for getting answers right such some rewards are sexual and some are romantic. another option may be anal intercourse, but, thats something you would both have to be comfortable with, and i would talk to the doc first.

I had a cerclage at 20 weeks my doctor told me to wait 6 weeks before I did anything. It was fine for me but painful for him. But because of the moisture just have him wear a condom. your cervix is closed and ain't nothing getting in or out til they remove it. But just use a condom and continue to be careful. You will be fine.

I'm really sorry to hear that, fortunately I have never been in such a situation. Why don't you guys try tantric sex (just the parts without the sex). I've heard great things about it. It's relaxing, sensual, sexual and keeps your relationship healthy. You can get some books on it or find techniques on the internet.

This sounds like the perfect time to experiment. Mutual masturbation, oral sex, and even taboo anal sex are all up for grabs here. Dont consider you sex life limited, think of it as newly "uninhibited."

I did being preg. with twins! Trust me it sucks!!
Foreplay for him is the best resort but unfortunally I do not suggest him doing it to you and I think you know why.
But Im sure if he loves you enough, he can wait.
Congrats and good luck.
