I can't judge. I'm leaving it to the judge.

While my opinion may not be popular opinion I feel the sensationalism the press gives to all the gruesome killings as well as the horror flicks contribute to someone's already twisted mind and provides brain fuel and new ideas on how to creatively, albeit gruesomely, murder people. So to respond to your question, no, I think they should actually tone down the way they already report things, quit senasationalizing these evil people, making twisted heroes of them. Ok that's my soapbox view.

No, the Media should be kept on a tight reign here, and just report the minimum facts. Without all the hype and gruesome details. It feed the minds of those who have a lien to this type of murderous behavior.

Having said that, I believe the Death Sentence SHOULD be brought back, and that is when the Media should be responsible for reporting the verdict, and some "in your face" facts, that this is what is going to happen if you take the life of another. You should pay with your life.

The Judicial System has failed society miserably here, by handing down sentences of 9 years, and out in 6, for good behavior.( An Example only). so they are back on the streets, and carry on committing the same crimes.

By bringing back the Death Sentence, and letting the media focus on the PUNISHMENT, rather than the sordid details. I believe the crime rate would drop considerably.

Then lets look at Hollywood and the TV series, that put out such vivid details, and the public thrive on these. I believe lot of the blame lies at their FEET.

I'm echoing several other responses, but I would say no. It only pushes those people that are capable of doing something like this and are already on the edge over. It reminds me when there was the bombing in Atlanta during the summer Olympics there. The newscaster not only talked about the bombing, but then proceeded to tell how the bomb was made and put together. I just thought, why not draw a picture so the next lunatic can use that.

The media has been a driving tension interior the nomination technique to initiate with. They have been via and massive, leaving Obama on my own up till the final week or 2. Clinton for sure benefitted from the exposure that his "alleged" scandals recieved. no remember if all and sundry believes the truthfulness of the scandals, they ought to be stated on. This did not ensue in the previous in his marketing campaign. i think of Clinton additionally benefitted from happening the different comedy shows and demonstrating some character. It made her look extra human and genuine at a time whilst Obama's image became being puzzled.

No I think they give way too much info on the regular news hour. Children have enough to worry about . There should be a different channel that carries only that kind of gruesome news for those that want to know the gory details and then we would not have to censor what our kids can hear when all we wanted to do was find out what is happening locally and the weather forecast for tomorrows wait at the school bus.

let me guess , you never lived in Miami during the "cocaine cowboy" day's ? Every homicide was considered drug related, and they probably were.We still felt safe ,as we were not the targets. You should see the news coverage when a hurricane is 1,500 miles away, they are already camped out at the BIG hardware store showing old footage of customers shopping for plywood. Since the BIG hardware spend so much on ad's , they can buy the news they want. What a joke, and these idiot's believe it !

Since we're talking about news coverage have you ever noticed how they push the camera and microphone under these peoples faces that are grieving? That is so disgusting!!!

I still believe you are Innocent till proving guilty, The news Media sometimes have people convicted before they go on trial.
Its up to the judge and jury to find a person guilty, With the news Media coverage I find it hard to pick a jury

Absolutely not. Every other wack job with half a brain sees all the publicity that these creeps get and then they decide they want to be "famous" too. What better way to get everyones attention than to take out a bunch of innocent people with you. Perhaps instead these people that do these horrible acts should be publicly executed and the media should cover that. I bet it would cut down on these senseless acts.

I don't think it should. They are seeking fame & glory and the media gives it to them. Who wants to hear about the horrible things that they have done to their victims? It just gives rise to copy-cat wannabees. Here is where I think freedom of the press needs to do some rethinking and be responsible. Just my opinion.
