I have found how many wonderful, interesting, intelligent, and funny new friends I have made on here. I'm so grateful. I've learned, once again, that age, in so many situations, really does not matter. I've learned from some of you smarties things I've wondered about for ages. Like, how many seniors does it take to screw in a bulb.....life-changing things like that.
Seriously, I have learned so many things that I will or have used in my every day life. I have found out how funny we can be with each other and not be offended. Thanks for all of you that make me laugh every day with your little side jokes or the big jokes some come up with. I have learned , again, how much I love laughing and making others laugh ( or at least making them grin) I 've learned that I talk ( write) way too much on here when people probably wish I would just answer questions in one or two sentences. ( Someone emailed me that I blab on and on too much, saying nothing) Sniff
I learned that this was an excellent question. Thanks

What I've learned since I've been on y/a is people are afraid of different opinions afraid of opposition, conflict and being insulted. People on Y/A generally just want to be agreed with.

I have learned so much, I just don't know where to start! Recently I've had help with my wheelchair learners permit, a great recipe for hot buttered rum, and other recipes for unlimited easy to make cookies. I've also learned how the gas prices are dropping in other states... but not mine, information about the survivor tree in OK, and how skewed Mrs. Hughes really is.... and how much she makes me laugh. Sorry, I got a bit carried away.

That people are more the same than different and that the older generation has despaired about the younger generation since Plato's time LOL.
The one thing I find disturbing however, is the ingorance and homophobia and misogny and lack of education and compassion of so many of the young people on YA. It's very sad they're walking down such a fearfilled narrow road with so much hate in their hearts.

I've learned that some people are WAY too sensitive (judging by a hate e-mail I got from some teenager). People can be soooo rude to others and for no reason. That there are other people out there my age (and older), that are fun and funny and a lot like me!!

I've learned how caring people are when your in a bad situation like the catastrophe we're going through here in Oklahoma. I'm amazed at the people that are concerned!!
And, that people can be forgiven for mistakes made!!! I just made peace with one!!! We both realized that making peace is contentment!!!! Now I have a new friend!!!

That trolls are everywhere and
it's very easy to get a violation
notice and that Yahoo deletes
your questions for little or
no reasonable reason.
that Yahoo has become over-
zealous in trying to maintain
their rules (that are unreasonable in the first place)
that most of the categories
are run by teen-agers who just want to play games and
not answer a question with
any intelligence whatsoever.

Not so much learned as confirmed -- I've always felt that the great majority of mankind is GOOD overall -- folks here confirm that belief.

That you have to develop a thick skin to not let some harsh opinions, pure stupidity and meaness bother you.
But also that if you hang in there and even reach out at times, Y/A has many very caring and yes, even intelligent people on here as well.
