Do you know any sources that dispel the fact that Jack the Ripper was a man who killed 5 prostitutes in the streets of Whitechapel, London between 1888-1891.

You're confusing "legend" with factual occurences. There are first person accounts as well as plenty of news stories of the crimes occuring. Most of the accounts connect the crimes to each other and assume a single killer, assumed to be a man because most violent serial killers of prostitutes are men.

What are you trying to disprove? That the murders are connected, thet they're done by a man, or that the women were prostitutes?

I just don't get why you're calling a series of events a legend.

Neither was frightening. But I find The Zodiac Killer much more mysterious than Jack The Ripper. It's possible The Zodiac Killer is still at large.

As I understand it, Jack the Ripper is historical fact, legendary in the sense only that his nickname is still remembered and recognized. I suppose it's possible that the killings weren't all the work of one man, although professional opinion seems to have held consistently for over a century that they were. The only aspect of the case not cut and dried is the killer's identity, about which some interesting speculations have been made.

I have never heard of any theory like that....unless you mean the notion that the crimes may have been perpetrated by a group of people working together (i.e. with one serving as a lookout).....
