Will not.
Culture (from the Latin cultura stemming from colere, meaning ;to cultivate,") generally refers to patterns of human activity and the symbolic structures that give such activities significance and importance. Different definitions of "culture" reflect different theoretical bases for understanding, or criteria for evaluating, human activity.

Culture is manifested in music, literature, painting and sculpture, theater and film and other things.[1] Although some people identify culture in terms of consumption and consumer goods (as in high culture, low culture, folk culture, or popular culture)[2], anthropologists understand "culture" to refer not only to consumption goods, but to the general processes which produce such goods and give them meaning, and to the social relationships and practices in which such objects and processes become embedded. For them, culture thus includes technology, art, science, as well as moral systems.

Using the internet will no more destroy our culture than reading the newspapers did when they were new. The internet represents change, which is natural to a culture. If a culture STOPPED changing, it would become stagnant. This is what happened to Rome before the onset of the "dark ages" over a thousand years ago.

Don't confuse "change" with "destroy" - the internet, like all new things that are popular and useful, will CHANGE our culture. But so will cell phones, iPods, Blackberries, etc. etc.

Destroy is such a harsh word.

I like to think it will make us closer given the reach it has across the globe. As more people wire up, culture will change to depend on this mode of communication.

Also, access to information is fast. Speed is something progress-oriented societies value. As more countries come out of 'third world' status, progress is something that matters.

Eventually, we will be able to download our loved ones. But probably not in our time.

Well it certainly destroys ignorance and i'm glad we have internet. Internet doesn't destroy beliefs or ideas but it does open people's mind. Still, the only thing it destroys is the way we get information and we communicate...but I don't consider this as "Culture"

you should use the internet more and maybe eventually you will learn how to make a complete sentence. The internet is the best thing to happen in the 20th century and it only gets better. sure there are some downfalls, but nothing is perfect.

Yes, but it is more of a merging of cultures. However since the Internet's main areas are American driven (Google, yahoo, Youtube etc.) it leans more towards that culture (mine).
