one reason is that the modern education system is involved at trying to tell my kids what THEY want them to think and I dont agree with the liberal spin to life...so I am trying to counter that hogwash(Jenny has two Moms????) until my kids can think for themselves...

Parents see things in a different perspective than us kids. They think that by teaching us what to think they are helping us have a brighter future and making us successful people but really they are making a huge mistake because they are disregarding the importance of teaching us what to think. They are more interested in teaching what to think because thats what they feel will be best but in reality they are only hurting their children. Hope this helps!

because MOST parents THINK that the way that they think is the ONLY RIGHT WAY to think .....
I had a very wise little grandmother .. she was a kind and caring person .. but she also taught me to think OUTSIDE the way my parents thought ... ( not that they thought WRONG .. just differently) ...
I have TRIED to teach my daughter that so many things are only from the PERSPECTIVE of people .. that you should try and consider different angles and different theories and ideologies ..
Sometimes it isn't easy thinking that way .. as you are accused of being Indecisive or a fence sitter or unloyal . .BUT i truly do believe .. if you TRIED to see things from different view points and ideologies .. It might help break down conflict .. rather than adding to it.....
think around. think above . think below. think over . think through .........
THINK !!!
( hope MY ANSWER made sense)

Because just because a person knows how to think doesn't mean they will think of the right things. You have to teach them right from wrong and what is acceptable and not acceptable. Once they know what to think they should be taught how to think so they can put their knowledge to good use. Children need guidance from and older more mature and experience person.

Many are teaching their children how to think. They have to since the No Child Left Behind Act. What they also need to teach them is coping skills.

I disagree with the premise of your question. Some parents, including mine, are big on teaching kids HOW to think.

i think of maximum could say this is the sole way they'd think of of to get a 2nd's peace - so as that they'd think of. you apart from mght could comprise the function of instructors in this technique. except you assume they're no longer allowed to instruct toddlers issues like that. Then, think of what mum and dad and instructors working jointly could accomplish.

Most people were, themselves, raised by being told what to think and not how to think so they don't know how to independently evaluate information and, thus, cannot pass on the skill to their own offspring. You cannot teach what you yourself do not know.

first you have to correct the wrong things the kids have learned at school, from friends and from step parents...then you teach them the right way to look at stuff and to draw their own conclusions..its not a black/white/good /bad thing...you cant just teach someone how to think and not correct wrong ideas along the way

I don't think that a lot of parents know how to think. You have made an assumption.
I would love to have a Socratic dialogue with you, But I am not Socrates, and you are not Plato.
