Hi.
I'm traveling by train through Italy, Paris, maybe Belgium and Amsterdam this January. I'll be buying a Pass at Eurail.com.

I was wondering if the frequency is like 2 trains per day or a lot more for national travels such as
- Rome to Venice
- Venice to Milan
and for international travels such as
- Milan to Paris
- Paris to Brussels
- Brussels to Amsterdam

Thank you in advance!!

Another question: With an Eurail pass, which trains can i board? Like, only some lines?

There are several different kinds of trains between Paris and Belgium/Amsterdam, the fast trains and the normal ones.
They have a different price system, and a different system for reservations.

The same differences also exist on the other train routes in Europe.

You can find all answers you are looking for on the different websites for the different countries:

Brussels to Amsterdam is an hourly train, taking a little less than 3 hours. The fast train is just 10 minutes faster on this connection, so no use to book ahead and get reservations.
I know that there are several trains Paris to Amsterdam, both fast trains and normal connections. As these trains go via Brussels there are even more trains for Paris-Brussels and Brussels-Amsterdam.

I think that if you have not yet booked your Eurail Pass you should read this webpage: http://www.scottstravelblog.com/ and work out if it is cheaper for you to have a pass.
If you want to use the fast trains it might be easier not to have a pass but just to buy tickets.

Mostly you can use a pass for the fast trains, but have to pay extra, but each train company can set its own rules.

You need to go to a bookstore in the mall and pick up a copy of the Thomas Cook Eurail Timetable. It's a red and white book and has ALL of the trains schedules... you will learn to live by those schedules, and the sooner you buy it the more time you have to study it and use it for planning your trip.
