Really it all depends on what they like. I got my husband a coffee maker. Instead of the coffee dripping into a glass pot it goes into 2 travel mugs. Alot of places over there have electricity in their housing units. Also while we were over there alot of people had XBox's and linked them so "game night" was like 30 guys playing halo.

Just remember that although they may have stuff already they might not have thought to pack some creature comforts. My family sent me a coffee cup for St. Patrick's Day and I treasured it simply because first I was tired of the paper cups we had for coffee and because my family had thought about me.

No matter what you get they'll love it. If you don't want them to be burdened with stuff get them something disposable. My mom used to send microwave dinners. They are MUCH better than MRE's or the chow hall food!

Hope those ideas helped.

Maybe one of the digital photo frames? They can be around $70 or more. A phone card is good too for international calling. They get time on phones but I know people that have been over there really like the phone cards to be able to call home for longer periods of time. Disposable cameras are good to and they don't cost too much. I'm sure others have some better ideas.... Good Luck and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

How about giving them both your thanks and your best wishes and give them your E-Mail address so they can keep in touch with you? The computer age and the internet has done much for the moral of US Forces deployed overseas. All units now, I'm told anyway, goes to war with at least one computer that has internet access so Soldiers, Marines, Airmen can communicate with family and friends. Far cry from my day. Be sure to thank them. I did send my son a portable DVD player so he could watch movies though, and they do cost over one hundred dollars. If you go this route though be careful of any movies you send to them.

A good bullet-proof vest. Not the one issued by the army. A bit pricey but very-very USEFUL.
