Is a little complicated because you must remove all pieces around the wheel, the wheel it self, two panel under the dashboard; call a locksmith to bypass the switch, when you have some time, take your car to a automotive locksmith to replace it.

I am not sure if you have the ignition cylinder/switch on the column or on the dash. Either way this is not a job for a rookie. If it's on the column you have to take off the column covers and do it that way. There are special tools to use as well. If it's on the dash, it is much easier to get it out as it's just regular screws and things. If the cylinder doesn't turn at all, you will also need a new ignition switch.

go to your local auto zone and get a manual for that car, it will tell you all you need to know about the whole job, sometimes the ingition will lock if the steering wheel is turned a little and that will make it hard to turn the key, next time try turning the wheel a little in each direction as you turn the key, this will let the cylinder turn

But that ignition switch is a like mother control of you car electrical power source! By accident you can have a serious damage on it!
If you decided to do it just do not forget the disconnect battery.

I believe you have to pull the steering wheel off and go in that way. But because of the airbag sitting there. I'd leave it to a pro
