Well, I like both
you can't compare the two and only put this question in the Rock and Pop category, that's unfair to the people that answer in the Hip Hop and Rap category
If you need an answer that is not both, i pick neither
Alternative mixed with rock is pretty good, so is alternative mixed with rap.
MSI's not rock or rap
neither is Billy Talent
I'm a devoted fan of both

This is a very broad question. There are many sub-genres to consider. I think both forms of music have decreased in quality due to the business side of music. This has always been happening but it gets worse as time progresses.
I personally prefer the rock "side." To me it seems that playing an actual musical instrument takes more talent and practice than making rhymes. Then again I've seen many a "rapper" improvise or freestyle and this is definitely not easy to do. There is talent involved.

Rock it's been around forever and is still rocking. Rap is just a phase that will eventually fade out it will never last as long as Rock

I like rock i used to like rap but all the rap songs when down the drain over the years.

It's really difficult to compare the two. There will be good and bad of every genre. Personally, I listen to more rock than I do rap, but that is not to say that one is better than the other. If you are talking in terms of what's popular these days, neither genre is that great at the moment.
