I hate chem because it is hard to visualize and i am terrible at word problems. Also there is tons of things you need to know and memorize in order to have a good foundation for later topics.

Is there any book or anything that makes chem more fun to learn? any ideas?? or how do you approach learning chem?

The key to understanding a complex subject like chemistry is to be sure you understand every definition and every concept/principle. A student gets in trouble (I've been there!) when they don't know the meaning of new terms or understand new concepts. Once things begin to unravel you quickly become overwhelmed.

The only solution is to go back in the book to the point where you understand everything (even if it is page one). Then, go forward, making sure you do not proceed until you understand everything on each page.

The good news is that when you do understand the terms and concepts, you will be able to do the assigned problems successfully. And, there is nothing like success with a subject to make it more enjoyable.

Best wishes and good luck.

Yeah chem is bad, im awaiting the results of my final year 12 exam. i dont have good vibes for my chem results. To do well in chem or any subject for that matter, i REALLY suggest you find, print, and read the 'SSABSA curriculum statement' and use it as your guide for studying (or go ask your teacher about it). It outlines exactly what you are supposed to know and what your teachers base the course on. i didn't know these curriculum statments existed until right before my exams! definately go get a copy.

As for making chem funner get together with all your friends and be openly involed about your learning. discussing as a group makes it funner and also helps you to ask questions about what you dont understand. Also get your teacher to have you do lots of experiments, its alot funner, and helps you actually see whats going on with the chem instead of seeing it in a textbook.

omg, im precisely comparable to you! when I stared grade 11, i ended worrying approximately examining, and that i used to be so obssessed with solid grades. i've got skipped maximum of instructions this twelve months, and exams are arising. = ( no count what i've got tried, chemistry won't be able to be made consumer-friendly or exciting, and relaxing is impossible. only say bismillah and open your e book, and initiate from the very commencing up. i'm hoping grade 12 would be greater handy for us, inshallah. = )
