I still have cards from 21 years ago. And I have some my late Husband had sent to his Mother in the 1950's when he was in the Navy!

For quite some time. You never know when you may need to send something to the person. Once the card is no longer needed for decoration, I put a post it note in it with the person's address.

I save the cards for several years, I eventually use the pictures on the front for class projects with my special education class so the kids can recycle them into handmade cards for their families or Christmas collages.

I have boxes of them up in my closet. I don't know why I save them. I have one anniversary card that my husband and I have passed back and forth to each other for years. It started as a joke when he forgot to get one and knew I had "the stash" so he recycled it!

I'm a pack rat..so I usually put the year on them and pack them away...I keep those kind of things special to me..u never know when someone could move far away or pass away..and you have something to remember them by..

I have cards going back to my oldest childs birth(46 yrs) I keep them in a large xmas box in my closet. Actually I have one from my wedding day(48 years)

I always keep any form of correspondence. I have emails from some very dear people that are older than my computer.
