People perceive that a hot chick is skinny and in-shape. Marilyn Monroe is beautiful, but would she still be considered hot today? Does it take a skinny, "model type" to be hot today?

I believe so. Marilyn Monroe IS still considered beautiful today.

Kelly Brook has a very voluptuous figure and she is still gorgeous.

I hate that the very skinny look is considered beautiful. Fair enough if a woman is naturally thin, but for a naturally voluptuous woman to strive to be very skinny is so terrible, although I myself am guilty of this.

In all honesty, I prefer a woman to be shaped like a woman, not a lollipop.

Size 0 means you dont exist, its horrible to look at and very unhealthy. Personally depending on height, I find a size 10-12 Australia, approx. 6-8 US i think. To be very attractive and healthy. Curves are good, curves are what makes your a women! Curves, not rolls of fat. Whats that saying 34' 26' 34' or something simular as the ideal measurements. Smaller women and your asian women can handle smaller sizes, but I've never seen smaller then a size 4 (size 0 US) in the shops, most start at a 6 (size 2 US) and even then its mostly your preteens that buy those clothes. Size 8 (size 4 US) through to size 14 (size 10 US) is healthy and looks good. I pay be wrong with my sizes, thats using the conversion from my Bonds undies hehe. People, women in particular pay to much attention to the size models are as their own rolemodels. It is common knowledge that most models have eating disorders or do drugs to stay thin. Its not healthy, you are whatever size you are so just be happy and accept it! Also, guys dont like the skinny skinny chics, alot only date them because they think it presents a good image. They much prefer a healthy looking curvy girl who knows how to have fun. I mean whats the point of taking a girl to dinner if shes not going to eat 99% of her meal. EDIT~ I have to add, the whole 'your fat' 'your ugly' thing. If your fat you can lose weight, if your ugly your stuck that way!. A pretty face means soo much more then a killer body, we're all gonna be old and wrinkly one day. Plus killer body usually = stuck up personality. Confidence is what makes a women attractive, so get out there, flaunt your assets and shake what your momma gave ya.

Coming from a female that's not into girls, I'd say she'd be 'hot'. Marilyn Monroe wasn't exactly the skinniest person which is what I like about her and a lot of 'chubby' girls could probably relate to that and use her as a role model. As for other famous people from the 50's, I'd say they'd be 'hot' with a new hair style.

Personally, I don't like what has become of models and actors. They all have to be skinny or people won't like them (particularly guys would pay more attention), which is like saying that if you don't look like that, then you're not pretty. And also many people are becoming anorexic because they want to look like that.

So I'd say their life styles would be 'hot', and also their facial structure would be 'hot', but defiantly new hair.

Marilyn Monroe was beautifull---yesterday--today--any day---beauty is not in the scale---and yes men would be falling all over her today as they did before----it's more then body---haven't you ever wondered why everyone likes so-and-so because she's not hot but you find out she's just an amazing person---with style--and class---and confidence---that stuff is more attractive then skinny model bodies

I was a little young to lust over Marilyn Monroe, but knew she was beautiful. I think so with today standards and might be showing more skin. Skinny models don't do it for me.

I would love to think that Marilyn would be conisdered hot but she wouldnt. I have her body style the curves boobs butt the whole 9 yds. actually i am a size smaller than her and ppl think i am fat and i am actually toned and a physcial trainer. I heared a quote from Elizabeth Hurely that said," If I was as fat as Marilyn Monroe I would shot myself" I think you have to be thin and that is sad. esp. since most american women arent and are buetiful and most men prefer a marilyn over twiggy.i think in time it will change again i hope. with the ppl like beyonce and jennifer hudson it will

Yes, Marily Monroe is gorgeous, but no, it doesn't mean that "model type" is hot. Skinny & cute doesn't mean everything. There are heavier people that are beautiful. To some people, they just want skinny & cute (maybe even things sexually attractive about them). But it should really be about personality.

She is still hot today and outdoes so many supposedly "hot" models. Look at Kate Moss....she is nothing compared to Marilyn Munroe and nor is Angelina who everyone seems to think is the hottest of all. Marilyn reigns supreme!!!! Everthing about her was hot....her voice...her eyes everything.

Depends on what you mean by hot. If you talk of beauty, pouty lips and voluptuous figures, then Marilyn would be hot. Also, if she were alive today, she would have adopted the tastes and fads of the 21st century, so the basics of femininity would still make her hot!

Depends on your taste. Look at Sophia Loren she's still hot for an old lady but she's also had a lot of surgery. Looking back on her younger photos I bet she would still be considered hot.
