Poetic songs?

Question

What songs would you say are "poetic"?

I need one for school and I'm having trouble choosing one.

I have a bunch of tayor swift and other country, plus fall out boy, boys like girls, and stuff like that. i have a huge variety so anything really would be helpful.

And I don't need any answers about my taste in music. If you want to insult my taste in music, just don't answer, please :)

Check out the band Daphne Loves Derby. Try the song "Deserts Eating Oceans," I'd say it's very poetic, especially the verses:

"I've been sinking through deep seas,
Oh, what a place to call home.
The current sings a ghostly tune,
Oh, what a place to call home.
And I'll walk with the phantoms of the sea,
Listen to the whispers until somehow I hear melodies,
Oh, what a place to call home."

Meg & Dia have some very poetic songs as well. The song "Masterpiece" comes to mind:

"Done by the hands of a broken artist.
You painted black where my naked heart is.
Now I finally know what wrong is.
Now I finally know that you bleed for nothing.
Carved like a stone with your hands still shaking.
Shown on display through a soul still breaking.
Aren't you proud you're the one that made me?"

Also try Meg & Dia's song "Courage, Robert." It's based on the life of Robert Schumann, a famous romantic pianist and composer:

Jim Morrison (The Doors) had some pretty poetic ones

Bob Marley - Redemption Song (covered most recently by Chris Cornell)

Bright Eyes have pretty poetic lyrics, although they're depressing.
