we have been married 1.5 years and in the begining she always wanted it and would start the act, now she wont hint about it or act like she even wants me. We have had a past of me doing drugs while she was drinking and alot of abuse and fighting went on but its over and she cant let the past go. I try to start over new and yet she still holds on to the bad times and the bad things i have done to her and doesnt see the good i have done or the changes i have tried to do to make her happy again. She is very bitter and her attitude tells it when she speaks to me even if i have done nothing wrong she is still angry with me. What do i do to help her forget the past and work on our future...I ask her to do things i want and i will do the things she wants..and i do them for a while and she doesnt do her part so i get mad and go back to my old antics....help me

A relationship changes dramatically after substance abuse is no longer involved. If you want to salvage the relationship get into counseling together. The past doesn't just go away. You have to deal with it and you have to do that together. Also, if she recently quit drinking she could go through terrible emotional issues and mood swings. She could be suffering from withdrawls. You need to get help to stop the drug use if you haven't already and not let your frustration or anger make you go back to your old ways. Get into counseling. Best of luck!

If you began the relationship when you were both using drugs/alcohol or whatever, it is bound to be completely different if you are both clean now. Both of you need to realize this and it seems you have been making an effort because you truly care. She needs to do so also, but you can't force her. I would try counseling maybe and if that doesn't work it might just be best to end the relationship.

Good luck.

Unfortunately My wife has ( many years ago) seen me drunk, quite a few times, but has never complained. For some years now, I have never drank alcohol. Have seen the light. LOL ( of day)
