Chopsticks
By 500 A.D., chopsticks had spread from China to other countries such as Korea, Vietnam and Japan. While initially only used for religious ceremonies in Japan, chopsticks quickly gained popularity there.

Silk
In the 3rd Century B.C., Chinese silk fabrics were beginning to find their way throughout the whole of Asia.

Porcelain
Porcelain originated during the Tang Dynasty, but the emperors of the Song (960-1279) further developed the craft and the Ming in the 1300s were perhaps the best.
The techniques for manufacturing porcelain spread to Korea and Japan by the 1100s.

Sword making
The oldest swords on record in Japan are the two that were sent as a present to queen Himeko from China during Wei-dynasty in 240 CE.
In 280 CE, more iron swords were imported from China to Japan. It is thought that the art of forging a steel sword came soon after from China and Korea.

Steel, silk, and knowledge on building techniques. China also had a much greater fleet of ships and the Japanese always wanted the ability to trade. Japan was known for it ancient medicine and paper parchments..
