I have a J Crew sweater that I want to take to the cleaners but I'm worried about it shrinking. Its 40% merino wool. Does anyone know how much it will shrink up?

I have had other brand sweaters over the years that have shrunk up at the dry cleaners and than I could not wear them anymore.

the only way to shrink wool is if you wash and dry it at home. you cannot shrink it at the dry cleaner. I have a merino sweater from J. Crew and a whole bunch of their other ones and have never had any of them shrink at the cleaners. check the label on the sweater for proper care instructions.

I have a wool coat (it's 100%) and it did not shrink at all. Apparently, the dry cleaner told me that wool does not shrink. I'm not an expert-- but my coat was fine.... good luck!!
