Professional sounding names... boys preferred?
I need help figuring out some names to suggest to a friend... She wants something professional sounding... She has Pierce, Preston, Carter, Cullen, Houston, and Jase so far.... What do you think? Can you name more professional sounding names (boys preferred but girls too)?
I think Jase isn't that professional sounding, but I like it. Houston is kind of odd, kind of not. If some child told me that was his name I wouldn't know what to think of his mom, if she's from Houston and is paying tribute or she's some young girl who decided to name him after the controversial one hit wonder singer, Houston.

Thomas, Edward, Michael, and David are the type of name I think sounds professional. The others sound like a law firm: Preston, Carter, and Pierce, Attorneys at Law. I guess they would sound professional if she were choosing a surname...

Try William, James, David, Alexander, Michael, Henry, Christopher, Andrew, Stephen, Peter or Matthew.
The names she's after sound like what we *think* lawyers and bankers and doctors will be named. In my experience, they're quite likely to have a quiet classic name. And if they *do* have a surname name, like Prescott or Cullen, it's because it's a family name from their family tree.

Those all sound pretentious. Professional names are the classic, timeless ones like Robert or James.
