OK seriously its OK! I get my blood taken frequently, and i get a flu shot every year! if i could, i would get the flu shot every few months and blood test yearly....sad it doesn't work that way! Any how, flu shot doesn't hurt at all...you barely feel it. It really depends on how strong you are too. When I was younger I didn't feel it at all....this past time it was a tad sorer. Yet I am in a wheelchair, I have very strong arms and shoulders so the needle went into a good amount of muscle. Most girls aren't as big around the arm and its not as sore. If anything you might be a tad sore the next day, but no more then a "reminder" that you go the shot. It's not going to keep you from anything.
To relax, just take a deep breath and look straight ahead, DO NOT focus on what is going on. Try to think of something pleasant, or what you have to do later or something. Just think of something else. Seriously, if someone taped you on the shoulder firmly it would still hurt worse then a flu shot. It takes 10 seconds and its over no biggy!

Many people are afraid of needles.
A flu shot uses a very small needle and is really just a "quick pinch" and it's over. If it bothers you, don't watch as the nurse does the injection. Rub the area vigorously when the shot is done.
A small poke with a needle sure beats getting the flu; many people die from the flu every year.

Wow, I envy you! I get a needle every week, for a disese I had when I was 4.
Flu shots hurt a bit.
But when I get ingected, I
1) Don't Look, closing my eyes works great
2) Consontrate on something else (Bring In an iPod or Mp3)
3) Eat a banana before you go (Or anything with grains)
4) And just say, it will only hurt for a seconde - and then I'm done!
I hope I helped

In a scale of 1-10 I give it a three and that is because it all depends on who gives you the shot. If is some one that has very little experience, then it might hurt a little bit more . I guess a good way to relax is to be positive about it, it worked for me.

technos shots have changed, I got one not too long ago and it felt just the same as another needle. Swine flu shot is the same thing, if you are so scared of needles, try getting the swine flu mist instead.
