Yes. Slaves in America were stripped of their culture and had no rights. No other slaves in recorded history was treated as such.

Depends on the type of slave. In ancient times, there were two kinds. One was the chattle slave. These are people who were captured during war or criminals. They were often worked to death at hard labor. The other type of slave was someone who sold themselves into slavery for a set period of time in order to pay a debt. Since there were no bankruptcy courts back then, this was common practice. Those slaves were treated much better, but could still be bought and sold as property.

In the plantation system in the Americas, your unskilled field hand was not worked to death, but did have a harsh life. After all, they were an expensive investment. House slaves, skilled craftsmen, and so forth had a better lot, but still did not have freedom.

The slavery in Africa during the same time frame was much harsher. Often, one tribe would use slavery as a means of wiping out an enemy tribe, selling off the defeated tribe to white slave traders. Slavery in north Africa was particulary harsh for white slaves, often captured seamen. Women had the worst of it even in todays slave trade, as forced prostitution is the biggest reason for modern slavery.

It depends... in many cultures where the slaves were won in battle they would often times be worked to death. That group could then just go capture more. As harsh as it sounds, having to pay for African slaves instead of simply capturing them led many to "protect" their investment. Slavery in the south was certainly harsh by any means but the monetary value on a slave helped keep them from being worked to death.

yes . because the europeans stripped them of their culture, forced them to "breed" and when they got tired of them they sold them even if they were a family.many of the slaves did not survive the journey across the ocean. at least if they were made slave by ancient systems they had the oppurnity to escape, or at sometime usually after 7 years they were free.

No! All throughout time every race and culture has been enslaved at one time. All of them were treated harshly, stripped of their dignity and rights, and killed by their masters at any time. History doesn't lie.
