Oh, I have a place! Down town San Jose, the Fairmont has a restaurant, Le Seasons. The best! I haven't eaten there in years, hope you love it as much as I did. They have a harpist on the weekends sometimes, very cool and have the most unbelievable wine selection you've ever seen. Be prepared to drop some serious green too. Happy Anniversary!

It really depends on what you are into eating.
If you're into Fondues, there is La Fondue or Melting Pot.
They have cheese fondues and chocolate ones for dessert! It's a great place to celebrate anniversaries! Very romantic atmosphere!
If you're into Sushi, I know this quiet little sushi restaurant that make WONDERFUL sushi AND the PEOPLE are VERY nice! It's called Akadai, it's in Fremont off of Grimmer.
If you're into Cheesecake and American cuisine, there is the Cheesecake factory off of Stevens Creek, where Valley Fair Shopping Mall is.
If you like Italian Food, I suggest Maggiano's @ Santana Row, they have hotels in the area with spectacular views! Very upscale and sophisticated!

If you like Asian Fusion food, go to Ana Mandara. They are not crazy expensive like other restaurants with comparable food. The ambiance is elegant and among the most beautiful I've ever seen. On some evenings, they have live jazz which is quite romantic.

If you want to go somewhere REALLY nice, go to La Folie - and expect a 3 hour $300+ meal. Totally worth it and the most incredible meal I've had in my life.

Happy Anniversary and Enjoy!

In the south bay, my favorite is Manresa. The food and service are just a small step below The French Laundry, but is much easier to get into. Manresa was one of only five restaurants in the bay area to get two Michelin stars. It is expensive, but it will be a memorable experience.
