LT is a better overall RB than A. Peterson. A running back, ironically, has to do more than run successfully. He also has to be an adept reciever, blocker, and, very rarely, a QB as well. LT has shown he is the complete RB, while Peterson has shown he is an excellent runner.
Until Peterson shows off his other talents, the best RB in the NFL will continue to be LT, simply for his versatility.

It has to be LT, he does everything right. He the best in the NFL becuase he is an all around RB. He can run, catch, and block better than any RB. Peterson is extremley impressive, especially since hes is only a rookie and even splitting carries with Chester Taylor. But he cant do everything LT can yet, give Peterson a few more years to learn.

Depending on your definition of "best" really. Best fit for his team? Stats?
I think if you say LT, Peterson, Parker, or Westbrook, you'd be right. Arguements can be made for any of those guys.
(Just speaking for this season of course)
Also, a running back is usually only as good as his O. Line. Give those guys some credit.

I'm a Vikings fan, and I never thought that Peterson was better than LT.
LT is in the highest level, he should deserve a category with himself.
We still have to see if Peterson can stay healthy.

I agree with you in the fact that Hillis is a great spot player, but with him not playing in many games or getting many touches, we don't know about his versatility to carry the ball 20 to 30 times a game, or defenses game planning for him. Going with someone who strictly runs the ball with only a few catches, I would have to say Brandon Jacobs is the best running back. If you want to talk about a versatile, all around pass catching and running between the tackles back, I would have to say Adrian Peterson, Maurice Jones Drew, and Brian Westbrook have to be in the top 5.

Eh... I'd say that LT is better, but Ryan Grant is the best! No, I'm not sure who the best is. Adrian Peterson's good though...
