they dont pop when the 5.1 system isnt plugged into the computer, and when it does pop the lights flicker at the same time. is this a power surge? i recently had to replace my power supply so im thinking this is a possibility. when my power supply did blow it was already hooked up to a voltage regulator. is a regular surge protector better? what can i do to stop/prevent this?

all the speakers pop at the same time, so it would be a short in one of the 3 5.1 color coded wires that go to the subwoofer interface?

ive adjusted all the wires and it still does it. and this is definitely not normal they didnt used to do this at all.
why would the popping sound coincide with the lights flickering everytime? are they drawing that much power to make them flicker or is the drop in power causing a surge which makes the pop?
and this varys from the gentle sound of a mouse clicking to almost as loud as a gunshot. if i leave them on at night i will wake everyone in the house up when it pops like that.....it shakes the windows, even when on mute. so not volume related

it does not "stop at a certain spot".
