Why was there a Japanese president...?

In Peru? I dont get it! HOw did the Japanese get there! how come there are so many of them in Peru! I tried to look it up but couldnt find anything on it!

Alberto Fujimori holds dual citizenship - that means he is a citizen of Japan AND Peru. As a citizen of Peru he was able to run for the position of President. Considering that he was just sentenced to 6 years in jail in Peru for abuse of authority yesterday, you should be able to find something on him.
