Why do Right-wingers claim that the 9/11 Truth movement is a "conspiracy theory"?

The 9/11 Truth movement is about wanting the government to answer questions...

Some very good questions.

They don't want answers from trailer-park theorists... they want answers from the US Federal Government and the mainstream media.

They haven't been given any answers that didn't end with some fairy-tale non sequitur...

Some of them might have some unique ideas about what "they think" happened... but the movement is about accountability and transparency...

If anything, the theory is "Their version doesn't exactly make sense..."

What's so strange and conspiratorial about that?

And have you ever seen the koo-koo birds who stop to yell at them on the street when they rally?

The truth is the real koolaid drinkers are the people who constantly call anyone who doesn't believe or follow the governments nonsense about 911, koolaid drinkers and tin foil hat wearers. I have never seen one piece of a plane in the field at Shanksville or the pentagon. The crater at the field was there 8 years before 911 happened. The pentagon had 8 cameras pointing at the front of the building where the alleged plane hit. They haven't released one photo from any of those cameras. Just the parking lot video of something small hitting the building. A 757 has eight rims in the landing gear, and 2 rims on the nose. Only one small rim was found . Do rims, engines, wings, body, doors, body's disintegrate in two places on the same day in 2 different locations? I think not. This is such a total cover up, and some day the truth will be revealed. Guess what. I am a total right wing, Ronald Reagan conservative republican and I can see the evidence that 911 was a total inside job, and major league cover up! Don't be a real koolaid drinker and follow the governments farse on the american people.

Jet fuel only burns at 1,800 degrees under optimum conditions, & would have burned up in 15 seconds, & it takes 2,800 degrees to melt steel, so the Commission Report could not have been true, that the jet fuel weakened the steel girders, causing them to bend & buckle. Even if you want to believe that, every girder would have had to weaken at the same time, all 110 floors, to allow that building to collapse as quickly as it did and that is ridiculous to believe. How many floors do you think were on fire? The commission stated that the burning desks, plastics & paper also weakened the steel, but they only burn at 450 degrees which is nowhere near hot enough to damage steel. Steel is not melted or weakened in stoves or pots or pans. A Madrid towering inferno burned for well over 24 hours gutting the entire building but leaving the steel frame intact. There was no such inferno at the wtc and they didn't burn nearly as long. North tower burned for only 1hr 40min, South Tower less than 1 hour. Molten steel was seen flowing from the towers before it crashed and found at the base of all 3 buildings. Both the 2 main WTC buildings and Building 7 had Core columns cut at an angle and pools of molten steel found at base of all 3 buildings. Proof positive explosives were used to take them down.

It is a conspiracy theory; they have a THEORY that the 9/11 attacks were part of a government CONSPIRACY. How can you not understand that?

This "trailer-park theorist" (actually I live in a very nice apartment) passed high school physics, so I can understand how the buildings fell. Hard science is more convincing than YouTube videos.

How many rebuttals are needed? Didn't Popular Mechanics cover this? Isn't that magazine considered "main stream media"? They were even on "Democracy Now!" with those three idiots from "Loose Change."

The main idea of the "9-11 truth movement" is that 9-11 was somehow a conspiracy of the US govt, or of others in the USA. That's why it's called a "conspiracy theory."

The term is not negative. It's just descriptive.

Some points about the conspiracy theory:

1. The conspiracy folks have often attacked the Federal Reserve Bank.

I consider myself fairly knowledgeble in Economics, and I don't know what they are complaining about. All the Fed does is require banks to engage in safe practices, and it controls the money supply to stimulate the economy or curb inflation. I haven't heard a specific complaint except that the Fed has "enriched" bankers. This is completely untrue. And the Fed is not "private," It's part of the Federal Government & its operations are public. The complaint about the Fed leaves me scratching my head.

2. Operation Northwoods:

Northwoods was a proposed plan, in 1962, during the cold war, to fake an invasion by Cuba so we could attack Cuba.

Even though Cuba had thermonuclear missiles aimed at the US, & even though we all built fall-out shelters in case of WWIII, Operation Northwoods was STILL rejected by our government

If anything then, “Operation Northwoods” shows that the USA rejects the idea of faking an attack.

3. Loose Change:

The internet film “Loose Change” is a collection of falsehoods & distortions that tries to convince you that 9/11 was a conspiracy. The film has been totally refuted.

The people who produce these internet films have utterly no qualifications (in engineering or demolition). On the other hand, there are numerous publications in scientific journals that reject the nonsense made up on “loose change”

CLAIM: No plane wreckage was found at the Pentagon

In addition the “American Society of Civil Engineers” (they’re non-governmental) investigated the Pentagon crash & issued this report:

The report contains abundant references to plane debris & body parts found in the Pentagon. The debris was clearly from a 757.

On top of all this, hundreds of witnesses, stuck on the interstate, saw the plane come in. Many saw it hit the Pentagon. Their names & testimony is a matter of public record. Any claims of a "missile" are nonsensical and beg the question, "Then where did Flight 77 & its passengers go, if it were a missile?"

I'm pretty far from right wing, and the "truth movement" has very little truth in it.

If there were a vast conspiracy, someone would inevitably tell someone else. There would need to be just too many people involved to keep it a secret.

Conspiracy isn't a theory; it's a reality. Lots of people are marched off to prison every year guilty of conspiracy -- the majority of them Republicans.

The U.S. ruling-elite orchastrated 9-11 in order to promote the neocon agenda. They didn't steal the 2000 election for nothing. They had a plan in mind and, as they stated in thier handbook (PNAC), they needed "a new Pearl Harbor". . . and then they proceded to effect one in front of our very eyes.
