Hey everyone! I'm not having a baby or anything. I just wanted to know what you think of the name Jasper? I abolutely love it! Please don't say it sounds like Casper the friendly ghost. Jasper is actually a type of quartz. What do you think of it?

Love it. ;) A handsome, intriguing classic that's familiar, but certainly not overused. Great name.
And while the "Friendly Ghost" comments are always annoying (especially given the distinct difference between the two ... it's not like anyone REALLY thinks "JASPER the Friendly Ghost," after all LOL), Casper actually IS a form of Jasper. In other words, even if you -- or he -- should receive such a comment, Casper IS a real name, independent of the animated character, so really, anyone commenting along those lines is simply showing their own ignorance. Akin to disliking equally-classic George, Charles (Charley), Thomas or Ruby simply because they happen to have been used for cartoon characters. Just silly, close-minded logic, to be honest.
Again ... love Jasper. ;)

Love it! One of my great friends is named Jasper and he is one of the most incredible, intelligent people I know. I really think a lot of who he is has to do with his name! Don't listen to these folks on here who say it would remind them of Casper...they've probably never left their home towns before.

I like that name. To me it's old-fashioned sounding, but in a good way, plus it's uncommon.
