So, I think I may know the answer to this... But...
A guy shiped my two older macintosh computer mouses that I bought on an online forum. The package didn't look like a package when I got it. The mice were crushed beyond use. The guy shipped them via the United State Postal Service and used Parcel Post. He did not buy any insurance. So I am screwed yes? The shipper didn't really do anything wrong. He shipped the mouses with propper packaging. It looks to me like it got jammed in some machinary and was pulled out. Is there anything I can do? Thanks for your help!

You can return damaged merchandise to the sender and see if he will make good. Other than that, no you can't do anything.

Hello,
Well you did not purchase insurance right.

You will need to contact your postal service and fill out forms. You will have to provide the worth of the items and other information to the usps. You may need a statement from the seller telling of the condition when sent.

I was the seller in a similar situation and the buyer contacted me and I helped her all I could with the forms to the USPS. This buyer did buy the insurance which I made optional for everything we sold.

I am told it is a pain, but the USPS really needs to be accountable for there actions.

Good luck.

Unfortunately you probably aren't going to be able to get a claim going on that...

I would go to the post office and talk to a supervisor about the condition of the package. There MIGHT be something they can do...

Good luck

If no insurance was purchased, it doesn't sound good. If insurance wasn't offered maybe you paid through a credit card that may offer some sort of protection or through paypal. I would venture down that path if that fits your scenario. Good luck.

Yeah, insurance is the key. I know FedEx and DHL have a $100 refund if you don't insure the shipment and they lose it or break it. I don't know what the USPS's no-insurance refund is but you could get online and explore their website at USPS.com.

I don't think so, the USPS might cover it to an extent. Or return it to the sender and explain the condition.

Or you can go to a usps office and just ask what to do.

Unfortunately, if the sender didn't insure the package, you're out of luck.
